CBC Wind Energy

PROVIDENCE – (July 1, 2024) – CBC Wind Energy, a 2019 Finalist in the Rhode Island Business Competition, just completed and delivered its first rapidly deployable wind energy system to the U.S military. The company’s focus and transformative technology is dedicated to solving the challenges of wind energy generation in the built environment. CBC has accomplished this by deploying a wind enclosure that captures wind from 4 to 100 miles per hour. This wind system provides low-cost power, energy security, and compatibility to a range of uses from residential buildings, farms, disaster response, and the military.

Robert Baxter, Founder and CEO, notes that there is an unmet need across the nation and the world for resilient power that can be rapidly deployed. "CBC's unique wind enclosure does not require towers and can be deployed rapidly with just a few personnel,” says Baxter.

“It is always exciting when one of our winners or finalists reaches a milestone in their business. We recognize all the hard work and dedication that Rob and his team have done to make their invention such a success, and we look forward to hearing about their future endeavors,” states Beth Carter, Executive Director of the competition.
