Rhode Island Business Competition Announces Winners of the Pitch Contest
PROVIDENCE - (November 12, 2021) - The Rhode Island Business Competition hosted a Pitch Contest on Thursday, November 11, awarding a total of $1000 in cash prizes. Over 24 entrepreneurs pitched their business idea to a panel of three judges, including Todd Knapp, CEO of Envision Technology Advisors, Steve Hughes, Sales Director – Northeast Region of Cox Business, and Annette Tonti, Managing Director of RIHub. The first-place winner was Alison Veintimilla who is the founder of Burbujita Mandhu, a curated, patented solution to treat burn wounds. Jessica Chiu took second place with her company, Regenaxion, a start-up that is looking to change the way the world thinks about biotechnology. Third place was awarded to Faith Keller whose company, Century Tree Therapeutics, aims to commercialize a novel nucleic acid therapy which treats a variety of cancers using a genetically targeted approach.
